Fall Family Fun Day

Rain and cold temperatures didn’t stop Geauga County’s outdoors loving families from showing their support of Geauga County’s Youth at the Fall Family Fun day! Parents and children enjoyed all sorts of outdoor activities, and warm snacks and beverages at the Natural Resources area in the Geauga County Fairgrounds! Tom Delong and Christin Morton from Geauga Bow came to the event and taught the children basics of archery and let them practice shooting at targets. The arrows were flying for hours! Fishing was also available, unfortunatly, no record breaking catches were made during the event. Chip and Annie Hess from Dobry Den Farm in Newbury brought a team of Halflinger ponies, Sandra and Peppy for wagon rides, as did Majestic Harbor and the Ward family from Burton, that brought their team of Percherons, Turbo and Jet. The kids really seemed to love this, as most of the kids took multiple rides with both hitches!Michelle Avram from Metzenbaum brought her crew from the Aktion Club and gave out prizes to all the kid that completed the Scavenger Hunt! Amy Buresch, Cheryl Mullet, Ashley Hiscox, and Lisa Milgate all voluteered to help serve food to keep are participants warm and moving! All proceeds from the event went to the Moorehead Scholarship Fun, which aides in the cost of furthering education to children that have been in the custody of our agency. There was also a presentation about the need for foster homes in Geauga County. Enjoy the gallery below and join us next year!
